Biography:
Hugh Parry
started his musical career at the age of eight years on the
piano and was soon featuring as soloist and accompanist at
local concerts. At the age of 16 he was appointed
Conductor of Tyldesley Town Band, and a year later, at 17
conducted them in a B.B.C. Broadcast from Manchester. He
was appointed Conductor of Wingates Temperance Band in 1953,
since when they have won many prizes at important festivals
and broadcasted regularly. Mr Parry was employed as a School
Welfare Officer,
